Judeo-Spanish Rock: December 21st

Yale Alum Sarah Aroeste Silverman '98 will open for the New York Sephardic Music Festival on Sunday, Dec 21st at the music club Le Poisson Rouge. The Sarah Aroeste Band fuses traditional Sephardic Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) folk songs with rock, funk, jazz and blues. With music that spans the Mediterranean in an exotic blend of East and West, The Sarah Aroeste Band combines flamenco melodies with Middle Eastern rhythms and a funky modern soul. Featuring the Sarah Aroeste Band's signature pop-rock Ladino tunes as well as brand new songs from the original Cuban-inspired Sephardic song project with acclaimed percussionist Roberto Rodriguez, and Yemenite hip-hop artist, Diwon. For tickets and more info please visit www.saraharoeste.com.
