Your Place Youth Center was started by an association of local churches and youth in the Newhallville neighborhood as a response to the gang violence that had disrupted lives and families as several young teenagers were killed. Volunteers are needed to assist in mentoring New Haven youths who seek to respond peacefully and also creative ways to channel their time and energy --- music, sports, academics -- what programs you want to start and participate in are flexible!
