Like politics? Interested in working directly with students in New Haven? Join
the Youth Political Engagement Project, a project of the Yale College Democrats
and co-sponsored by the Yale College Republicans. Lead a weekly high school
class in a lobbying project on school reform. Work with students who may not
have ever left New Haven or whose first language is not English. Develop a
hands-on curriculum designed to focus on local issues affecting student
lives such as school reform, the school to prison pipeline, and New Haven's
lack of sexual education. Work directly with New Haven government officials,
teachers, and students to design curriculum focused on allowing students to
create change in their communities. The Youth Political Engagement Project is
looking for volunteers for both its weekly lobbying project and after-school
program and students interested in developing curriculum. Interested? Contact
