Mission: To provide HIV rapid testing and counseling to rural villagers in developing countries and puruse an awareness initiative to statistically at-risk populations.
Who: A volunteer force made up of college students passionate about public health seeking global public health experience.
Where: We are conducting a research study in Honduras this Winter Break and are piloting the program there over the summer.
This organization, founded at Yale, is the newest branch of Global Brigades, the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization (http://globalbriagades.org/). AIDS Briagdes has been working with undergraduate and graduate students at Yale and NYU, CIRA, HIV clinics, professors, and other AIDS/HIV organizations to materialize its unique vision.
