Dear Friends,
Do I have a tutor for you!!!
Here's an altogether too familiar scenario. Your child struggle for hours
to make sense of assigned reading in a history or literature class. She
would rather undergo root canal than write a paper. Her self-esteem is plummetingeach test and report card. You are tearing out your remaining tufts of
hair.
If so, I suggest you get Francesca on the case. Young people adore her and
she is not only smart, experienced and rigorous but full of fun and
creativity. She is also an expert in guiding students through the process of writing
the crucial college essay.
At the moment she has room in her schedule for a few more. Please see
below for a description of her services and respond to her directly at

Good luck to all, parents and kids!

FROM FRANCESCA MORDINI LEIBOWITZ
After many years of private tutoring and teaching in English and Social
Studies classrooms, I am convinced, to put it simply, that its almost impossible
for kids to go wrong if they can read and write well. The pen may very well
be mightier than the sword, but only if one knows how to wield it!
I specialize in tutoring middle and high school students in reading and
writing skills, social studies, AP English and the college essay. Together we
work to:
 Improve reading comprehension and vocabulary
Acquire techniques for navigating complex expository texts and
fiction
Develop a critical lens through which to interpret literary works
 Formulate and convey independent opinions
Write clear, expressive and grammatical prose
Compose a well-organized and coherent essay
Learn how to edit, revise and proofread
In my seven years of experience, I have helped scores of overwhelmed,
disorganized or under-achieving students make the transition to honor roll, deans
list, and admission to the colleges of their dreams. I am a graduate of Poly
Prep Country Day School and Georgetown University, where I obtained a degree
in comparative literature with honors, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
My MA was received at Brooklyn College, where I was licensed in Secondary
English Education and graduated with a 4.0 average.
I offer individual and small group sessions, as well as packages. Unlike
most tutors (and psychotherapists!) my hour lasts for 75 minutes.
Please contact me for further details, additional services, and/or to
arrange a session at 917-304-3800, or via email at
